CHEF NIGEL P. HENDERSON

The Roots

Nigel's culinary journey began in 2008, following a successful career in the entertainment industry. He is a proud graduate of both Le Cordon Bleu and Morehouse College. Nigel's culinary endeavors have taken him from Los Angeles to New Orleans, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned Chef Leah Chase and the Chase family. In Los Angeles, Nigel showcased his talent at The Kitchen for Exploring Foods and The Peninsula Beverly Hills, and he held the position of Executive Chef responsible for reopening Jack & Ben's, the corporate restaurant of WME/IMG . 

 

Driven by his passion for exceptional food experiences and a commitment to sustainable practices, Nigel founded The Feast LA. His vision is to create unforgettable culinary moments by utilizing locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. Nigel has had the privilege of serving Hollywood elites,  government officials,  participated in national music festivals, contributed to film productions, and supported local fundraisers.

 

In 2013, Nigel played a pivotal role in introducing #Hashtaglunchbag to New Orleans, LA. During the same year, he launched The Nola Truck, a renowned food truck famous for its contemporary twist on Creole and Southern cuisine. The truck has garnered recognition through appearances on local news, Travel + Escape's Rebel Without a Kitchen, and Adam Richman's Fandemonium.

 

Currently, Nigel divides his time among several pursuits. He curates culinary events, caters to private clients, imparts his culinary wisdom through teaching cooking classes, and produces and hosts The Gumbo Pot Podcast.
